Tu-Plast is offering a new environmentally friendly packaging solution for cosmetics and personal care products: the sugarcane tube. The company uses Terralene, a tailor-made family of polyethylene compounds based on renewable raw materials. All Terralene grades are based on sugar cane as the raw material, thus making a valuable contribution to the conversation of fossil resources, according to Tu-Plast.
Due to the material, it is possible to produce tubes designed for a long service life. The sugarcane tube has a high barrier and outstanding chemical resistance. Moreover, the tubes are biodegradable, meaning they are decomposed to water and carbon dioxide by microorganisms
