Ozzy Osbourne is set to launch a new gothic-themed make-up collection created in collaboration with Jolie Beauty.
The former lead singer of heavy metal band Black Sabbath, also known as the ‘Prince of Darkness’, worked with the Birmingham, UK-based cosmetics brand to create the gothic-themed collection.
The limited-edition, officially licensed range is said to fuse Jolie Beauty’s “bold, artistic style” with the “theatrical, gothic flair” that has defined Osbourne’s career.
Osbourne is known for his signature heavy black eyeliner and black nail polish, a popular look among heavy metal artists.
“The Ozzy Osbourne x Jolie Beauty collection is a celebration of darkness, glam and rebellion – featuring a show-stopping range of high-performance cosmetics and exclusive collectible merchandise,” Jolie Beauty said in a company statement.
Details of the range have not been revealed, but the brand said each piece is designed to honour the musician’s legacy.
Customers can sign up to a waitlist for the collection, which is slated to be released on 9 July.
“It is such an honour that Ozzy and his team chose to partner with us – especially as an independently run brand from his home city,” added Jolie Cashmore, CEO of Jolie Beauty.
“This collaboration is a testament to Ozzy’s impact on the gothic and alternative communities, and a celebration of his legendary influence on music, fashion and creativity.”
The collection is not Osbourne’s first rodeo in the beauty industry.
The ‘Prince of Darkness’ teamed up with fast-cosmetics giant Revolution Beauty for a limited-edition beauty collection in 2022.
The 21-piece line celebrated “Ozzy’s distinctive look and style”, with all products named after the singer’s best-selling heavy metal songs.
He is not the only heavy metal musician to step foot in the beauty arena either.
Cult British rock band Def Leppard released a limited-edition cosmetics and home fragrance range in 2022 through cosmetics brand Rock and Roll Beauty.
Tapping into the band's glam rock roots, the collection includes eyeshadow palettes, shadow sticks, lipsticks, lip oils, highlighters, make-up brushes and nail decals.
Osbourne’s latest collaboration comes at a time when more beauty brands are tapping into music collaborations to solidify their brands in the minds of consumers.
