Linx extends coder portfolio

New from Linx Printing Technologies are two simple case coders using thermal ink jet (TIJ) technology designed for coding onto porous or uncoated surfaces such as cardboard. The TJ125 and TJ225 are said to be reliable and low maintenance due to an integrated print head/ink cartridge system.

Both models offer a cost effective alternative to roller coders and low resolution drop-on-demand case coders and are particularly suited for use with secondary packaging including outer cases, cartons and trays.

The printer system comprises a handheld controller for programming and set up, connected to a small print head assembly, into which the TIJ ink cartridge is inserted. According to Linx, installation is simple enough for the customer to complete and there is no risk of expensive print head repairs or replacement.

The TJ125 model offers simple one- or two-line coding, which may be enhanced with incremental software to create a fully featured coder, while the TJ225 builds on this with four-line printing and barcode printing as standard.
