Cosrx breaks into hair care with scalp health-focused Peptide-132 line

The South Korean skin care brand has entered the hair care category with science-led formulations that target damaged hair and scalp health

Cosrx, the K-beauty brand best known for its clinical and minimalist skin care, has launched its first hair care range.

The peptide-132 hair care collection marks the skin care brand’s official move into the category, bringing its dermatological expertise to scalp and hair treatments.

The three-step collection, which includes a shampoo, treatment and oil serum, is available to buy via Amazon and cosrx.com.

The brand said the launch reflects a broader trend in the beauty industry as consumers increasingly embrace the ‘skinification of hair’ – an approach that treats the scalp with the same level of care as the skin.

“We did not want to create just another hair care line,” said a Cosrx spokesperson.

“We wanted to apply the science that has made our skin care so trusted and effective to hair, starting with the scalp and targeting the underlying causes of damage.”

At the core of the range is Peptide-132 (tripeptide-132 HCl), a patented ingredient developed in-house by Cosrx’s R&D team.

Engineered using 3D laser scanning and molecular modelling, the peptide is designed to penetrate the hair shaft and repair weakened keratin structures from within.

The brand has claimed that clinical testing has shown that the ingredient helps reduce breakage, improve shine and restore elasticity, with visible benefits reported after a single use.

The brand's formulas are dermatologist-tested, pH-balanced and suitable for a wide range of hair types, including straight, wavy and curly textures.
