Interparfums SA has debuted its private-label perfume collection Solférino Paris, which is targeted at the niche fragrance market.
The licensed fragrance specialist's first proprietary brand focuses on haute parfumerie, with ten gender-neutral scents each inspired by an iconic Parisian place or moment.
The collection, numbered 01 to 10, is positioned in the premium fragrance segment, with a 75 ml bottle costing €160 and 125 ml €260.
“Solférino Paris paints a luminous portrait of a city where the intimate and the universal meet, in which everyone can project their own memories, desires and imagination,” read a statement from the brand.
“This gender-neutral collection offers rich, diverse and multifaceted creations that boldly reinterpret iconic accords and the main olfactory families.
“Ten sensory journeys in the heart of the enchanting spirit of Paris, which gives everyone the freedom to find their own scent.”
Solférino Paris will also have a freestanding boutique in France's capital, Paris, in September.
The brand name, Solférino Paris, is inspired by the brand’s headquarters – 10, rue de Solférino – which was acquired by the perfume-maker in 2021.
“Its name resonates with the quintessence of French elegance and is inspired by an exceptional address,” read a statement from Interparfums SA.
“A prestigious eighteenth century mansion nestled between Boulevard Saint-Germain and the banks of the Seine river.
“10, rue de Solférino is, thus, the starting point and epicentre of the maison’s creative inspiration.”
Rêverie Sur Seine 01, developed by DSM-Firmenich’s Nathalie Lorson, is a woody neroli inspired by the Seine river.
10, Solférino 02, meanwhile, is a floral rose scent created by Givaudan nose Antoine Maisondieu, said to capture the “splendour” of the company’s townhouse.
Thé Au Palais Royal 03, created by IFF’s Jean-Christophe Hérault, spotlights oolong tea; while Folies á Montmartre 04, mixed by Givaudan’s Jordi Fernandez, is a rich black leather said to embody “true Parisian elegance”.
Un Samedi á Paris 05, from the mind of IFF’s Tanguy Guesnet, is a woody gourmand based on “the surroundings of the Eiffel Tower”.
