Soft pink and matcha green hues, along with more darker, cinematic marketing, are pitched to be the big colour and packaging trends in beauty in 2026.

The top five colour trends for next year include soft pink, described as a “cotton candy pink”, followed by Gen Z green, a “fluorescent yellow green”, found data in market research firm Mintoiro’s new report 2026 Beauty & Cosmetics Visual Trends.

Rounding off the most popular colours in order are: Matcha mochi, a calming, muted green; Malibu blue, a bright, refreshing blue; and inter forest, a deep, saturated green.

The report, commissioned by 3D GenAI photo and video studio Omi, drew on Mintoiro’s proprietary database of more than 20,000 beauty brands.

Soft pink is leading, however, because it “embodies comfort, tenderness and optimism”, Jennifer Carlsson, founder of Mintoiro, told Cosmetics Business.

She added: “It is a versatile shade that can feel nurturing or modern, which makes it appealing across both luxury and mass-market brands.”
