Beauty packaging manufacturer and provider Quadpack has invested in new equipment to produce PET lip gloss bottles at its flagship manufacturing facility in Kierspe, Germany.
The move leverages its expertise in thick-wall PET injection moulding by expanding the product mix to colour cosmetics.
The plant now manufactures and decorates jars, bottles and airless packs for both skincare and makeup, to serve a predominantly European client base.
As such, Quadpack will be able to shorten lead times and reduce carbon footprint for one of its most important product categories.
Pierre-Antoine Henry, Senior Director – Marketing, Innovation & Strategic Development, explains: “There is a market gap for dip-in packs that are compatible with high-alkane content formulations, particularly in 6ml full-PET lip gloss solutions. We can now meet demand in the region for the majority of our customers, while underscoring our credentials in colour cosmetics.”
The new equipment is dedicated to the production of lip gloss bottles for its monomaterial dip-in packs, made of recyclable PET and with high PCR content options.
Quadpack’s dip-in packs are a prime example of its hybrid model, co-creating and co-manufacturing with strategic global partners: the locally-produced bottles are complemented by a proprietary range of high-tech applicators.
Henry says: “This is an important step in bridging the gap between Asian technology, cost and know-how with European manufacturing expertise.”
