As beauty continues to evolve into a space of emotional expression and identity play, nails are no longer just a canvas for colour – in fact they are becoming a medium for storytelling, mood-setting and even self-empowerment. 

Chelsea Mtada, Senior Strategist at SEEN Group, shares four nail trends with Cosmetics Business which are predicted to dominate summer 2025. 

Each of these trends reflects a shift in how consumers approach beauty.

In 2025, beauty is getting deeper – literally. 

“We are seeing a move away from surface-level aesthetics to more atmospheric, emotive expressions,” says Mtada. 

Enter sea witch core, a trend drawing inspiration from the mysterious depths of the ocean and the allure of siren folklore.

Pinterest has reported a 65% rise in searches for ‘sea-inspired nails’ and a staggering 695% jump in ‘dark siren make-up’, signalling a clear shift toward moody, fluid beauty.
