Departure comes as luxury retailer embarks on major restructuring and renewed focus on core categories

Clare Horner, Beauty Director at Harvey Nichols, has stepped down from her role after more than four years at the luxury department store.

Horner joined the business in January 2021, overseeing the retailer’s beauty strategy during a period of significant industry change.

Her exit comes as Harvey Nichols embarks on a wider transformation plan aimed at repositioning the business as a leading destination for fashion, beauty and hospitality.

Prior to joining Harvey Nichols, Horner held the position of Managing Director at beauty subscription service Latest in Beauty.

Her career also includes senior roles at Kenneth Green Associates, where she served as Sales Director and Group Marketing Manager, and earlier buying roles at Harrods and British Airways.

In a statement shared on LinkedIn, Horner reflected on her time at the retailer, calling it a “privilege” to lead the beauty division and highlighting the collaborative partnerships built during her tenure.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some of the most inspiring brands and partners in the industry,” she said.

“I leave with huge respect for what we’ve achieved together and a sadness to go, but I know it’s the right time to take on a new opportunity.”

Horner’s departure coincides with Harvey Nichols’ renewed focus on core categories.

The company recently unveiled a three-year restructuring strategy that includes scaling back or exiting “non-core” areas such as own-brand food, hampers, corporate services, and its online food platform.

The initiative forms part of efforts to restore Harvey Nichols’ status as a “British icon” and enhance its relevance in the evolving luxury retail landscape.
