Henkel has appointed Rajat Agarwal President of its North America region.Agarwal, who currently holds the role of Corporate VP of Packaging within Henkel’s Adhesive Technologies, steps into the regional presidency following the departure of Pernille Lind Olsen, who is returning to Denmark to pursue new opportunities.
Based at the company’s North America Adhesive Technologies Packaging headquarters in Bridgewater, New Jersey, Agarwal brings nearly three decades of in-house company experience to the role.
His tenure at the consumer goods company, which owns Schwarzkopf and Dial, began in 1997 as a Research Scientist in automotive adhesives.
It has since spanned leadership roles in global innovation, executive leadership in Greater China, and most recently, the packaging segment in the US.
“I am honoured to take on this new role at Henkel after 28 years with the company,” Agarwal said.
“Alongside my fellow leaders and our colleagues across the US and Canada, I look forward to continuing to build on our strong position in North America, Henkel's largest global market.
”Agarwal holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Science from the University of Connecticut in the US and a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology.
“Agarwal brings a wealth of technical expertise and decades of organisational knowledge to this new leadership role at Henkel,” said a Henkel spokesperson in a company statement.
“He leads with an entrepreneurial spirit and has found success across multiple regions and roles due to his strategic problem-solving.”
As part of his expanded remit, Agarwal will work closely with the Henkel North America Executive Committee to advance the group’s purpose: to be pioneers at heart for the good of generations.
