Mitchum UK has issued an apology after consumers reported ‘burning’ sensations and rashes from using certain deodorants.
Instagram and TikTok users began sharing posts last week about the impact that products from the beauty brand, such as Mitchum Men and Mitchum Women roll-ons, had on them.
Symptoms mentioned included “blisters”, “infections” and “scarring”, according to social media users across both platforms.
The Revlon-owned deodorant company has taken to Instagram to apologise and explain that the cause of the reaction was due to a change in the manufacturing process of one of its raw materials.
This change has altered how the product interacts with the skin in some consumers, the brand claimed.
“Some of you told us that you have experienced temporary irritation after using selected batches of Mitchum 48-hour 100ml Roll-On, sold in the UK, Ireland and South Africa,” Mitchum UK said in a statement on Instagram.
