Prada Beauty has unveiled its new banana-themed beauty launch which was first teased in singer Sabrina Carpenter's ‘Manchild’ music video.
Prada Balm in Banana Yellow is a banana-scented lip product which pays homage to one of the luxury Italian house’s most recognisable prints – the banana motif featured in its spring/summer 2011 collection.
The balm, which has a melting texture and is said to deliver a sheer gold finish, has been introduced alongside a limited-edition release of Prada Banana candy.
Carpenter is a Grammy Award-winning artist and Prada Beauty’s Global Partner.
In her latest music video ‘Manchild’, which launched on 6 June, the 26-year-old singer playfully hinted at the new project by snacking on the Prada-branded banana candies.
Her look in the video, which has been viewed 34,333,189 times on YouTube, also encompassed the yet-to-be-released lip product.
Prada Beauty is the latest in a string of beauty companies tapping into music to solidify its brand and products in the mind of consumers.
“From fashion to beauty, Prada Balm in Banana Yellow reveals new possibilities for this timeless pattern,” read a statement from Prada Beauty.
“Which embodies the brand’s renowned harmonious balance of playfulness and sophistication – from the vibrant yellow bullet and banana-inspired scent to the golden warm luster finish it leaves upon the lips.”
Prada Balm in Banana Yellow is enriched with the brand’s signature caring complex, containing bifidus extract and jojoba oil, which it claims delivers up to 24-hour hydration.
The pastel blue refillable bullet comprises Micro-Blushing Technology, which adapts to the lips pH, creating a rosy glow tailored to the user.

Carpenter, best known for hits ‘Espresso’ and ‘Busy Woman’, has partnered with Prada Beauty on several collaborations over the past year.
The singer helped unveil the brand’s first mascara – Pradascope Lash Extending Mascara – which she is wearing in the ‘Manchild’ video.
She also partnered with Prada Beauty on the launch of its Color Changing Lip Balm in Astral Pink, which featured in Carpenter’s ‘Please, Please, Please’ video.
Prada is best known for its handbag, clothing and perfume lines, but the company entered into the make-up and skin care arena in 2023.
