Tom Ford has appointed actress Tilda Swinton as the face of its recently launched Black Orchid Reserve fragrance.
The Academy Award-winning actress, known for her roles in Marvel’s Dr Strange and The Grand Budapest Hotel, stars in a campaign to promote the Estée Lauder Companies-owned brand’s latest scent.
The newly released fragrance elevates the brand’s cult classic Black Orchid perfume, with ghost orchid to create a “richer floral dimension” and other notes including patchouli and amber.
Designed by Creative Director Haider Ackermann, Tom Ford describes the campaign in a statement as a “cinematic portrait of rarity in its most heightened form”, with Swinton “as rare as the Black Orchid – a flower born of the quest for perfection.”
The campaign was shot by Inez and Vinoodh, the duo behind the lens on projects like Zendaya for Louis Vuitton and Addison Rae’s Rolling Stones shoot.
It will launch on 1 September.
“It is a profound honour for me to play a part in the history of Tom Ford’s legendary Black Orchid,” said Swinton.
“Transformation, the blurring of boundaries and the celebration of magical properties have always drawn me close; Black Orchid Reserve is precisely such an enchantment.”
