Since 1927, when it was first patented by Norwegian engineer Erik Rotheim, the aerosol dispenser has developed into one of the most widespread packaging solutions for hairsprays, deodorants and other personal care products. According to the European Aerosol Federation (FEA), over 12 billion aerosol packages were produced worldwide in 2010 and in Europe over 53% of the aerosols produced were in the personal care sector. The market continues to grow and evolve, responding to environmental concerns and consumer demand.
