US based sampling solutions provider Arcade Marketing has bought Grasse based Carestia, a specialist in scented products such as fragrance blotters. The purchase was made via Arcade’s Paris based subsidiary Arcade Europe SAS for an undisclosed sum.

“We are excited about the technological and commercial opportunities we’ll be able to offer our clients with this acquisition,” said Philippe Ughetto, International SVP of Arcade Europe, who will now serve as President of Carestia, working with CEO Jérôme Onoratini.

Carestia, founded in 1883, produces paper based samples such as scented cards, ‘touches’ and notebooks, as well as card packaging for glass perfume samples and scented inserts for magazines. Its clients include Diptyque, Caron, Lacoste and Dolce & Gabbana.

Arcade Marketing was founded over 100 years ago in Tennessee, and specialises in sampling solutions for the fine fragrance and beauty and personal care markets. Its products include a number of patented technologies such as the ScentStrip fragrance sample where an encapsulated fragrance oil is captured between two layers of paper.
