Are moisturising formulas doing enough for consumers?

Dryness is the number one skin care concern among consumers. Every year consumers spend increasing amounts on moisturisers, serums and other skin care products in an attempt to mitigate it. So why are they still not satisfied? Experts discussed the issue at the SCS Annual Conference, ‘Science in a Bottle’.

Jonathan Crowther, Director at JMC Scientific Consulting, said that there is a thirst for knowledge among consumers.

“I think it’s fair to say that my wife is an involved consumer of skin care products, and when she first found out what my job involved she was keen to know which products really work.” However, what works for one consumer may not necessarily work for all.
