Aromatherapy Associates CEO Anna Teal is leaving after four years at the helm.

Teal’s resignation from the Walgreens Boots Alliance-owned spa brand will be effective from 27 January.

She will be replaced by Aromatherapy Associates board member and MD of the No7 Beauty Company, Mark Winter.

Walgreens Boots Alliance had put out feelers in 2021 to potential bidders about selling the spa brand, but last year chose not to progress.

Instead, the retail giant integrated Aromatherapy Associates into its No7 Beauty Company, which is the beauty business unit within the group.

“I have never had a more fulfilling and dynamic role and I feel immensely proud of the progress we have made in the past four years,” Teal told Cosmetics Business

“But the change brings a very natural turning point for the business.

“Simplified leadership under Mark, who is a huge fan of the brand and understands its unique role and positioning, becomes a natural next phase for the business.”

Not finding the ‘right’ new owner for the brand is part of the reason for the change.
