UK retailer, the John Lewis Partnership has staved off misery on the high street, announcing a 1.4% increase in gross sales for the Christmas period.
Sales for the seven weeks to 5 January 2019, reached £2,207m, with department store John Lewis & Partners seeing a 2.5% increase versus last year to £1,160m, and Waitrose & Partners recording a gross sales growth of 0.2% to £1,047m.
