Inter Parfums appoints financial expert to Board of Directors

Fragrance house Inter Parfums has appointed another member to its Board of Directors.

Financial expert Gilbert Harrison draws up the ninth seat at the table and brings with him more than 50 years of financial experience.

Harrison began his career in 1965, after graduating with a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in the same year, and went on to establish his own investment banking firm, Financo, in 1971.

“I, along with my fellow directors, welcome Gilbert as the newest member of our Board,” said Inter Parfums Chairman and CEO Jean Madar.

“Gilbert possesses a tremendous depth and breadth of knowledge about the merchandising and consumer industry, and he has a long track record of facilitating value creating transactions for companies in this sector.”

After establishing Financo, the business was acquired by - the now bankrupt - Lehman Brothers where Harrison worked as Chairman of the Merchandising Group and on the firm’s investment Banking Operating Committee.

In 1989, he re-acquired Financo before retiring from the firm in December 2017, after which he formed the Harrison Group, which provides consulting and advisory services.

He also lectures across the US and has been responsible for a course of mergers and acquisitions at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Madar added: “We are excited that he has agreed to join our Board and share his knowledge, insights and perspective for the benefit of Inter Parfums.”
