Jessica Alba-founded ‘clean’ lifestyle brand The Honest Company has announced the nomination of two consumer-facing industry veterans to its board of directors.

Julia M Brown, the former Chief Procurement Officer of Mars Wrigley and John R (Jack) Hartung, Chief Financial Officer of Chipotle Mexican Grill, have been nominated for election to the company’s board at its 2022 Annual Meeting of Stockholders, which takes place 25 May.

In addition to Mars Wrigley, Brown brings experience from the likes of Kraft Foods and Mondelēz International, while Hartung spent 18 years at McDonald’s Corp.

Nick Vlahos, CEO of The Honest Company, commented: “We are thrilled about our plans to add Julia and Jack to our board of directors. Both bring a great depth of experience with outstanding performance at consumer-facing organisations that will deepen our relationships with consumers and fulfil our mission of inspiring everyone to love living consciously.

“As we continue to build and strengthen our board, we are confident that Julia and Jack will be extremely valuable in helping continue to position The Honest Company for long-term growth.”

The Honest Company was founded ten years ago by Hollywood actress Alba and has positioned itself as a digitally-native label that leads the ‘clean’ lifestyle movement.
