In her new role, Whang will also join the management committee of L’Oréal USA.
Whang joined L’Oréal in 2004 in the Luxe division and has worked with brands including Lancôme, Kiehl’s and Shu Uemura.
She most recently held the role of General Manager of IT Cosmetics in the US, but has also worked for L’Oréal in marketing and consumer behaviour.
While working for Maybelline New York as Senior Vice President of Marketing, Whang was responsible for launching the brand’s mental health resource initiative, Brave Together, a programme to support those experiencing anxiety and depression.
Whang will report to Nathalie Gerschtein, President of the Consumer Products Division for L’Oréal’s North America Zone.
