Manzanita buys majority stake in Byredo
Private equity firm also owns SpaceNK
UK based private equity company Manzanita has acquired a majority stake in niche fragrance brand Byredo. Manzanita is the owner of beauty retail chain SpaceNK, along with many of its core brands including Eve Lom, Lipstick Queen, Rococo Nail Apparel, Beautannia, Sai Sei, and French fragrance brand Diptyque.
“We expect to provide the resource to Byredo and its founder, Ben Gorham, which will assist in Byredo's international development. This resource will include funding and, as appropriate, expertise from the other nine brand companies which are members of our group,” said Manzanita in an official statement.
Byredo (which stands for By Redolence) was founded by Gorham in 2006 and its product line includes fine fragrance, home fragrance, body care products and accessories. All of the brand’s products are manufactured in Sweden and it currently sells in 45 countries.
