Luxury skin care brand Temple Spa has increased its mobile revenue by 106% over 12 months since upgrading its website.

The increase comes after the brand implemented the Magento 2 Commerce platform to create, what it calls, a smoother and more intuitive customer journey.

It also saw a 67% increase in mobile conversion rates over the same period after working with e-commerce agency Gene.

Executive Director Adrian Bond said: “Our customer base shops with us primarily using mobile and tablet devices.

“Innovation and best practice around selling online is continually shifting, as is consumers behaviour, and our website allows much more flexibility in terms of growth.”

He added: “Gene’s pedigree in building and implementing advanced mobile technologies means we have a sophisticated online shopping experience and the best tools available to serve customers the way they want to be served.”

Gene is also developing a new way for the retailer’s direct selling division to benefit from these mobile technologies; this will allow customers to access its collections, activate promotions and place orders.

Matt Parkinson, Managing Director of Gene, said: “The direct selling division will utilise advanced technology that’s underpinned by Google and works on mobile devices even when offline.

“Consultants will first download the entire website to their phones, then browse as if using an app.

“It behaves like a website that is regularly updated with products and prices, and will add something of an omnichannel aspect.”

The brand also plans to create a more personalised shopping experience for customers, with skin diagnostic tools and special promotions.
