Benefits from natural products trend

Natural ingredients supplier Naturex has enjoyed annual consolidated revenue of €226.3m in 2010, up 21.6% on 2009’s figure. In constant currencies, the increase was 16.2%, exceeding the growth target, which had already been revised upwards in September 2010.

Operating income was €27.3m, compared to €13.1m in 2009, while consolidated net income nearly tripled to reach €14.8m after €6.2m in tax.

According to Naturex, 2010’s strong performance was partly due to the high demand for naturals, which continued in North America and Europe and which accelerated sharply in emerging markets such as Asia, Latin America and eastern Europe.

In addition, the integration of Natraceutical’s ingredients division – acquired in December 2009 – which led to the group doubling in size during fiscal 2010, is also credited with generating very high organic growth.

“Growth was once again very strong in 2010 in a year marked by major integration. This is a highly successful year during which we had record performance and enjoyed increased visibility, thanks to our new size,” commented president and ceo Jacques Dikansky.
