Speaking to Interview magazine, the Disney star revealed her plans for her debut beauty brand

Selena Gomez has teased fans with a glimpse into her new beauty brand Rare Beauty.

Speaking to Interview magazine earlier this month, the Disney star revealed the brand’s plans to launch a 48-shade foundation range.

In the interview Gomez said: “People of my generation have all this pressure to look a certain way, and I wanted to make a line that took away a bit of pressure.

“I use real people in the campaigns. I have 48 shades of foundation and a concealer.

“It’s very clean and easy. I wanted people to feel safe.”

The actress and singer officially announced the launch of her debut beauty brand, Rare Beauty, in February.

However, few details were released, other than that it would arrive at Sephora in the summer of 2020.

Speculations have been made that Gomez’s brand will include a red lipstick after the brand posted a picture of her wearing its products for her latest single Boyfriend.

Extended foundation shade lines have become the norm in beauty since Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty brand introduced its 40+ foundation range.

The movement, coined ‘The Fenty effect’, was well-received among the industry and sparked a number of big players to extend their lines.

Charlotte Tilbury, Lush, MAC and Huda Beauty have all since expanded their foundation lines to be more inclusive.
