The hair care brand of celebrity stylist Richard Ward is manufacturing its brushes made from 100% recycled plastic in the UK to create job opportunities
Tangle Angel, the UK-based hair care brand, is helping out the environment and the economy as well as consumers' locks with its latest hairbrush.
Made from 100% recycled plastic, the Re:born brush (£9.95) features the brand's antibacterial Memory-Flex bristles and is also housed in recycled cardboard packaging.
Meanwhile, the new range is manufactured in Manchester, UK, in a bid to celebrate the brand's heritage and create jobs in the market during a time of economic instability, as well as helping to further reduce its carbon footprint when supplying to the UK, Europe, US and Middle Eastern markets.
Celebrity hairstylist Richard Ward, founder of Tangle Angel, commented: “The appetite for a wider range of sustainable products in the hair care industry is something we have seen rise considerably over the past few years.
“We feel now it is up to us, to take responsibility and make the changes, so others follow suit.
“This is why we have created a product that does not compromise on the recognisable quality and technology of Tangle Angel, yet it is kinder to the environment.
"A product that looks great, retailers will be proud to have on their shelves and consumers proud to use.”
As consumer appetite for eco-friendly products continues to grow, an increasing number of retailers have signed up to the UK Plastics Pact, an initiative designed to tackle the issue of plastic waste and change how products are designed, produced, used, re-used and disposed.
Those that have made the pledge include beauty giants Boots, Unilever and P&G.
With its Re:born range, Tangle Angel hopes to inspire other brands to create high quality products that are kind to the environment, while also offering shorter lead times and more affordable prices for retailers and customers.
Consumers can choose from six colours – Ice Blue, Lilac, Pink Sparkle, Aqua, White/Silver and White/Fuchsia – and the brush is available now from tangleangel.com.
