The global panel for the 2021 event is made up of industry experts from across the globe

The Pure Beauty Global Awards provides brands of all sizes with global recognition the opportunity to boost their marketing efforts on an international scale.

Pure Beauty has curated a special panel of beauty and skin care experts from across the industry to help choose the deserving winners.

The team are pleased to introduce the judges taking on the role of deciding who wins big at the 2021 Pure Beauty Global Awards:

The brand discoverer: Alexia Inge

Singularly committed to curating a ‘Beauty Hall of Fame’ by featuring only the best hero products from across the globe, Alexia Inge, co-founder Cult Beauty, has a life-long passion for beauty and is on a mission to become the most trusted beauty retailer in the world.

Under Alexia’s leadership since 2014, Cult Beauty has become the go-to place for discovering beauty and incubating trends, from the latest scientific wellbeing discoveries to century-old remedies that have never been bettered.

It has fast become home to some of the biggest names and need-to-know burgeoning brands. Cult Beauty became the first independent e-tailer to stock Anastasia Beverly Hills, brought Milk Makeup across the pond to the UK market and was instrumental in herding Drunk Elephant into Europe.

The skin care journalist: Alice Hart-Davis

Alice Hart-Davis is a journalist and founder of The Tweakments Guide website.

For 20 years, she has been reporting and reviewing skin care products and cosmetics procedures.

Her latest book is 'The Tweakments Guide: Start with Skincare'. ‘I’m still just as entranced by skin care and what it can do for us as I was when I first stumbled into beauty writing,’ said Alice.

‘The power of effective products to improve our skin, and the way we feel about our looks, is something you can’t underestimate.’

The product junkie: Amaya Smith

Amaya Smith is the founder of the Product Junkie, an online and bricks-and-mortar boutique featuring products for women with naturally curly hair.

Smith stopped straightening her hair over a decade ago but discovered that there was no upscale retail experience that catered to women who wanted to look beautiful and professional wearing their curly hair – so she started the Product Junkie.

The inclusive beauty entrepreneur: Brittany Brown

After graduating from Stevenson University in 2013, Brittany went on to study aesthetics. Shortly after, she launched Monee’ Cosmetics, a natural and organic skin care line.

As a new beauty entrepreneur, Brittany struggled to find a space where a multicultural-women-owned indie brand could thrive in a market overrun by big names.

She founded Project Beauty Expo (PBE) in 2016 as a venture that creates a support network for women of colour who are interested in natural beauty, wellness and healthy living.

The master of perfume: Claudine de Vogel

Claudine was inspired by Firmenich Master Perfumer Annie Buzantian to become a perfumer and to pursue her ambition, she began studying Business of Perfumery at the University of Plymouth.

After successfully finishing a placement at CPL Aromas in Marketing, she started with CPL Aromas in 2002 as a trainee perfumer.

In 2010, she moved to CPL Aromas in Bielefeld Germany where she now works on a variety of projects.

The accomplished artist: Clayton Reid

Working as a key member of the NARS Artistry Team, Clayton perfected his technique on the high-fashion runways at London Fashion Weeks where he worked with designers such as JW Anderson and Creatures of the Wind.

His work has been published in Vogue, Marie Claire and L’officiel and has worked with brands such as Erdem and Christopher Kane.

It is his love for fashion, beauty and artistry that led him to become the accomplished artist he is today.

The sustainability expert: Jasmine Hemsley

Jasmine is a three-time best-selling author, the founder of food blog Hemsley + Hemsley and cafe chain East by West. She is also a TV presenter, accomplished chef and nutrition, and wellness expert.

She uses her platform to promote a 360 degree approach to health and encourages a return to a simpler, more mindful way of life.

With these messages Jasmine is inspiring her global audience to deepen their commitment to eco choices and sustainability in food, fashion and beauty.

The hair hero: Laura Husband

Laura Husband is the former editor of Pure Beauty and has spent the past six years writing about the beauty retail sector with expert knowledge on everything from new product launches to global trends.

She was chair of the judging panel for the UK’s Pure Beauty Awards for three years and is now the editor of the UK’s leading magazine for the hairdressing sector, Hairdresser’s Journal.

The fragrance fancier: Lisa Hipgrave

For the past thirteen years, Lisa Hipgrave has been Director of IFRA UK.

Lisa is a highly experienced fragrance specialist and, prior being involved in IFRA UK, she served as a perfumer in the industry for 20 years. She also worked as the Managing Director of an international fragrance house.

Lisa has worked on all types of fragranced products including fine fragrance, personal care, candles and air care for many brands and high street names.

The award-winning hairstylist: Lorraine Dublin

Lorraine began her career in hair care more than 20 years ago. Her impressive list of clients includes Serena Williams, Kelly Rowland, Thandie Newton and John Boyega.

Her extensive training and expertise with all hair types has led her work to be published in titles such as Vogue, Stylist, Black Hair, Sports Illustrated, Forbes and Wonderland.

She currently co-owns My Hair Bar in West End’s Bloomsbury.

The A-list facialist: Nichola Joss

Nichola Joss is one of the beauty industry’s most revered skin care, self tanning and nail experts and returns as a judge for a fourth year.

She is the beauty therapist of choice for a whole bevy of A-list beauties such as Scarlett Johansson, Meghan Markle, Hilary Swank, Gisele Bundchen and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Best known for her miraculous lymphatic drainage massage facials, Nichola is one of the most well-reputed celebrity skin care experts in the industry.

The organic skin care expert: Dr Pauline Hili

Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Dr Pauline Hili is now one of the UK’s top organic skin care experts. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and founder of Nourish London, an award winning, certified-organic skin care brand.

Trusted and acclaimed by beauty experts, and with more than 30 years of expertise, Pauline has published numerous research papers and is the author of the book 'The Antimicrobial Properties of Essential Oils'.

How the awards are judged

The Cosmetics Business editorial team review all entries and narrow them down to the list of finalists. The finalists are then passed on to our international judging panel, who review the information provided to vote for the winners.

The judging criteria is based on a product’s usability, effectiveness, unique selling points, packaging (where relevant), functionality and innovation.

Winners will be announced live during an online ceremony taking place on 12 May 2021.
