The most hyped launch of 2008 will take place at London’s Selfridges store this weekend. Illamasqua is described as a night-time make-up that enables men and women to explore their alter egos. Taking inspiration from movements like the 1920s Berlin club scene and the modern ‘alternative’ scene, it also taps into a rich heritage of make-up for film and theatre.
The new brand will launch with four collections. Noir is described as dark, edgy and seductive, while Fantasy is a surreal and colourful collection. Romance is designed for a feminine look and the final collection, 1920s Berlin, is inspired by the club scene of the period. In addition, HPC provided suitably individual bespoke packaging for the ranges.
Illamasqua has already made the news thanks to its high profile art team, which includes ground-breaking make-up artist Alex Box as artistic director, contemporary artist Anja Huwe and David Vanian, lead singer of The Damned.
