ASA gets tough on Clarins
The Advertising Standards Authority has pounced on the cosmetics industry yet again.
The Advertising Standards Authority has pounced on the cosmetics industry yet again.
Prestige skin care brand Clarins has come under fire for the anti-ageing claims it made in connection with its Expertise 3P treatment.
The ASA found that the evidence Clarins used in support of its claims was insufficient and upheld complaints that the company was employing scare mongering tactics by suggesting that electro magnetic waves could be responsible for skin ageing.
Clarins are not the only beauty company to have fallen foul of the ASA in recent weeks. L'Oréal Paris had its knuckles rapped for using false eyelashes on spokesperson Penelope Cruz in visuals promoting a mascara.
