Aveda (Estée Lauder) has launched Outer Peace Anti-Blemish, its first skin care line designed to prevent and treat acne using modern botanical science in four steps.

The system uses Ayurvedic plant extracts that are said to work with other naturally derived ingredients to unclog pores, calm irritated skin and control excess oil.

Outer Peace Foaming Cleanser is a mild cleanser that cleans deep into pores, removing impurities without overdrying. Anti-Blemish Pads gently exfoliate to unclog pores instantly and help eliminate the formation of blackheads. Step three is a powerful spot treatment that is said to eliminate breakouts, prevent future blemishes and reduce redness. The final step involves using a lightweight moisture balancing lotion that helps control oil, reduce the appearance of pores and protect against dry skin.

The key ingredient in each of the four stages is tamanu oil, which has strong anti-irritant and antioxidant benefits. The oil is sustainably sourced from the Vanuatu islands in Southeast Asia, helping to fund local schools and protect indigenous culture.

Launch: UK from May

Prices: From £14.50 for Outer Peace Spot Relief to £19 for Outer Peace Anti-Blemish Lotion
