China’s ageing population has the real potential to be a drag on the country’s economic growth.

The country has one of the fastest-ageing populations in Asia and the oldest population of any of the major emerging markets, and in addition, the one child policy has led to a massive gender imbalance, with many more males than females (Euromonitor).
