The winners of the CEW (Cosmetics Executive Women) Beauty Awards were announced today, with companies including Clinique, Neal’s Yard Remedies and Soap and Glory achieving success in a number of categories.
The fourth annual event, sponsored by Boots.com, attracted 301 product entries, a 50% increase on last years event. Judged by over 400 CEW (UK) members, the awards were handed out on the basis of innovation and excellence.
Clinique (Estée Lauder) managed to bag three awards in the Prestige category, including the award for Best New Every Day Skin Care Product with its Superdefense SPF25 Age Defense Moisturisor and the Best Classic Beauty Product award for its Airbrush Concealer. Neal’s Yard, who entered for the first time this year, also managed to achieve two awards, with the most worthy being the prestigious Best British Brand award, a prize sought after by many.
Tri – Aktiline (Estée Lauder) scooped the awards for Best New Anti-Ageing Skin Care Product – Mass and Best New Brand – Mass while beauty brand Soap & Glory also won two awards, one for the Glow Job product as the Best New Every Day Skin Care Product and also the Scrub Actually bath product as the Best New Bath & Body Product.
In the Best Makeup category Max Factor held court, winning the Best New Makeup – Mass award for its Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara while Estée Lauder received the same award for the Prestige category for its Turbolash All Effects Motion Mascara.
The winning products can be purchased by consumers on an exclusive website www.boots.com/cewukbeautyinsidersawards and will be part of a window display by the CEW retail partner, Harrods. Shopping channel QVC will also feature a two hour evening programme featuring all the winning brands on 28 April 2009.
