In response, CPL Aromas is championing a new era of ‘joy through fragrance’, where sensory experiences unlock curiosity, inspire play and transform ordinary moments into more uplifting, personal expressions of happiness.
CPL Aromas’ research highlights a clear demand for emotionally driven experiences, with 88% of consumers seeking moments of joy and 78% believing brands can do more to deliver happiness.
This shift is fuelling the rise of immersive, multi-sensory engagement, as consumers gravitate towards products that stimulate colour, scent, texture and storytelling to create richer, more memorable interactions.
Building on this insight, Wonderstate reframes fragrance not simply as a product, but as an experience - one that enhances mood, supports wellbeing and encourages self-expression.
Designed to bring the macrotrend to life, the event invited guests to step into Wonderstate through a series of interactive fragrance ‘worlds’, experienced as a sensory trail that encouraged exploration, play and discovery.
Six fragrance worlds designed for escapism
At the heart of the experience were six distinct ‘states’, each offering a different emotional and sensorial escape:
- Bloomstate – a celebration of nature’s abundance, combining verdant green notes and florals to reconnect with the outdoors.
- Sugarstate – embraced indulgence and nostalgia, with playful gourmand scents inspired by sweet treats and carefree, joy-filled moments.
- Solarstate – captured the uplifting warmth of sunshine, blending radiant citrus, solar florals and creamy accords to recreate the feeling of carefree summer days.
- Dreamstate – offered a softer, cocooning experience, built around comfort and emotional reset through airy, calming scent profiles.
- Aquastate – explored the refreshing, restorative power of water, with clean, fluid fragrances inspired by oceans and blue spaces.
- Cosmicstate – transported guests into a futuristic, imaginative world, using unexpected accords to spark curiosity and a sense of discovery.
Each state was supported by CPL’s proprietary technologies, including EcoBoost, AromaSpace, AromaWellness, AromaCore Bio, AromaHydro and AromaFusion, showcasing how innovation can enhance emotional storytelling through scent.
The experience culminated in a hands-on workshop, where guests were invited to ‘play’ with fragrance and create their own scent to take home - reinforcing Wonderstate’s emphasis on creativity, experimentation and personal expression.
Visitors also personalised their fragrance bottles with charms, tapping into the growing trend for customisation and collectability within beauty and fragrance.
