Denmark bans four phthalates
Use of suspected endocrine disrupters in consumer products to end autumn 2012
Danish environment minister Ida Auken has announced that four suspected endocrine disrupters will be banned from use in consumer products. From this autumn, the phthalates DEHP, DBP, DIBP and BBP will no longer be allowed in goods sold on the Danish market.
Auken made the decision despite the European Commission having stated that it intends to phase out the chemicals by spring 2013.
