Drugs, not cosmetics, boost Q3 revenues for Boots

Alliance Boots has announced continued double-digit sales growth for the quarter ended 31 December 2009, up 10.2% on the same period in 2008. Boots’ Health & Beauty Division grew 6.1%, with sales for its No7 brand, fragrances, electrical beauty and indulgent bathing described as “excellent”. The group also noted in a letter to employees that Boots had achieved record customer care results in the run up to Christmas 2009, with customer compliments rising threefold.

Meanwhile, the company’s Pharmaceutical Wholesale Division increased 12.7%.
