Engelhard offers natural antioxidant

Engelhard has created a new natural, antioxidant delivery system which is claimed to protect skin from environmental stresses such as UV rays. Phenoline vectors are microspheres that stabilise polyphenols in order to optimise their protective power. They can be used in a variety of cosmetic applications including anti-cellulite body care, firming and toning products and as anti free radical scavengers. The vectors are based on agar, which encapsulates the benefits of polyphenols in their natural form, and are commercially available as gel-like triglycerides. Engelhard says the vectors do not cause discoloration and do not reduce the effectiveness of other skin care product formulas due to oxidation.

"Our exclusive encapsulation technology can stabilise a wide range of different types of polyphenols from various origins universally and rapidly."
