EU scientific committee probes nano ZnO safety

The nanomaterials working group of the EU’s scientific committee on consumer safety will be probing the safety of nanoparticles of sunscreen ingredient zinc oxide. Dossiers have been submitted by the EU cosmetics sector including information on both uncoated and coated zinc oxide particles. The working group has requested additional data having assessed these papers.
