Germany blocks illegal personal care products

Turkish made coral-coloured nail polish ‘Marabu’ has been withdrawn from sale in Germany for containing 0.5% by weight of dibutyl phthalate (DBP), banned in cosmetics by the EU’s Cosmetics Directive. Meanwhile, India made ‘Moon Star’ brown herbal henna has also been withdrawn in Germany over health concerns reported by EU consumer alert system RAPEX.
