Francesco Tortora, director of P&G France's hygiene and beauty division, has said the advantage of the merger has been to give Gillette access to technologies that were not previously available. The company is expecting to make inroads into the men's care products market with a value in France alone of about €30m annually. The market expanded by 20% in 2007 and is currently led by L'Oréal and the Nivea group Beiersdorf.
