Greentech's ceo Jean Yves Berthon is to take part in a polar expedition to explore the Greenlandic icecap. It is hoped this will lead to greater understanding about the physiology of the algae and microalgae that grow in this harsh environment.

The expedition, called Inlandsis, is co-organised by polar expert and explorer Janot Lamberton.

“This research programme in biology will be focused on algae harvests on the cap surface in order to continue and complete the inventory already started, with deepened analyses and scientific publications,” say the organisers.

Greentech will unveil its findings at the Ingredients show held as part of Beyond Beauty in Paris, 1-4 October 2007.
