A system claimed to shake cellular energy out of age-induced decline has been developed by Shiseido.

Bio-Performance Super Exfoliating Discs has been designed to mimic the skin’s natural cell exfoliation process, acting on the surface layer of the skin to exfoliate horny cells and make the skin softer. One side of the disc is covered in natural silk and gently exfoliates while the other textured cotton side is more intense. The discs are formulated with Bio-Exfoliderm, an exfoliating compound developed by Shiseido. Brewers Yeast extract helps soften the horny layer and weaken intercellular bonds while enhancing the effect of TMG, a natural phytogenic sugar beet extract that helps break down desmosomes and accelerate their release. Rice bran has a polishing effect, exfoliating surplus cells.
Bio-Performance Super Refining Essence is said to reduce dullness, leaving skin fresh and dewy, and reduce lines and wrinkles with regular use. Bio-Regenerine technology is said to increase the skin’s natural cell turnover, using three approaches to produce smooth, glowing skin. Bio-Energy Infuser, an algae extract, is claimed to saturate cells with new vitality, while Super Plant Bio-Extract helps break down desmosomes and promote effective, gentle exfoliation. Rose apple leaf extract protects the skin from UV and environmental damage disruptors.
