French designer Issey Miyake has launched his first major feminine fragrance in over a decade.

Simply entitled, a scent by issey miyake, the new fragrance follows the designer’s philosophy for simplicity, technical innovation and inspiration from nature and is themed around the four key elements of a fragrance – a scent, a bottle, a name and a box.

Created by Firmenich’s Daphné Bugey, who was also the nose behind the recent limited edition L’Eau d’Issey scent, Un Goutte de Nuage, the green, floral woody fragrance is said to evoke a new green freshness in perfumery. Fragrance notes include hyacinth, galbanum, verbena and jasmine.

The bottle, designed by Arik Levy has been created to look as if it was made from a slab of pure glass, with frosted edges and a transparent centre, which bears the fragrance name. Each bottle size has been designed to look as if it has been sliced as a cross section, with the same sized flacon but a wider depth, depending on the volume of juice. A 50ml, 100ml and 150ml are available.

The outer packaging is green to echo the scent and features an image of the bottle. Ancillary products including a body lotion, shower gel and deodorant spray are packaged in a white box.

The fragrance will launch exclusively in the UK in Harrods on 16th August, with a nationwide roll out expected in early September.
