L’Oréal Groupe has picked the person responsible for identifying American beauty brands and services for acquisition following the departure of group veteran Carol Hamilton.
Ali Goldstein is now President of Acquisitions for L’Oréal USA, working across all four L’Oréal divisions: mass market, luxury, dermatological and professional beauty.
A long-term L’Oréal leader, Goldstein most recently served as President of flagship brand L’Oréal Paris in the US – a role she took on in 2019.
She has worked for the French beauty giant’s US business since 2001, with leadership roles across the L’Oréal Paris, Maybelline and Garnier brands.
Goldstein then served as Senior VP, Strategy & Business Development for L’Oréal’s Consumer Products Division, where she was responsible for identifying new business opportunities, including acquisitions.
She succeeds Hamilton, who is retiring from L'Oréal in May after a 40-year career with the company.
Goldstein will report to David Greenberg, CEO of L’Oréal USA and President of the North America Zone.
“Goldstein’s unmatched knowledge of the industry and the American beauty market, her sensitivity to spotting emerging trends and scouting new business opportunities, and her decades-long experience of building powerful brands and setting them on a course for growth make her the perfect candidate to lead our company’s brand acquisition strategy into the future,” said Greenberg.
Goldstein’s promotion is not the first for L’Oréal’s US subsidiary this year.
This month, Tina Fair was promoted, with immediate effect, to President of its Consumer Products Division for the North America Zone.
She succeeds Nathalie Gerschtein, who stepped down to pursue new opportunities outside of L'Oréal.
