L’Oréal gets EC clearance for YSL deal

L’Oréal has won European Commission clearance to buy YSL Beauté from PPR for €1.15bn. The arrangement, announced in January, will see YSL Beauté’s Yves Saint Laurent, Boucheron and Stella McCartney brands remaining with PPR’s Gucci Group luxury division. But commercial exploitation of Yves Saint Laurent and Boucheron will belong to L'Oréal.


L’Oréal has won European Commission clearance to buy YSL Beauté from PPR for €1.15bn. The arrangement, announced in January, will see YSL Beauté’s Yves Saint Laurent, Boucheron and Stella McCartney brands remaining with PPR’s Gucci Group luxury division. But commercial exploitation of Yves Saint Laurent and Boucheron will belong to L'Oréal.

In addition, L’Oréal will get the licences on Stella McCartney, Oscar de la Renta and Ermenegildo Zegna perfumes and cosmetics. Full control of all YSL Beauté and Roger & Gallet (YSL Beauté’s eau de cologne and perfumed soap unit) shares will also go to L'Oréal.
