L’Oréal Paris is launching a number of initiatives to coincide with Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout September L’Oréal Paris will raise money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF) and run programmes to help support survivors, raise awareness of the disease and educate women about the disease and its symptoms.

The Color of Hope Makeup Collection features products for eyes, lips and nails in mauve, the colour symbolising ovarian cancer awareness. L’Oréal Paris will donate $2.00 from the purchase of each Color of Hope Riche Nurturing & Protective Lipcolor and $5.00 from each $25.00 Color of Hope Cosmetics Bag to the OCRF. Similarly, the OCRF will receive $5.00 from the sale of each L’Oréal Paris Hope Necklace. The necklace features two sterling silver and cubic zirconia eternity rings, symbolising remembrance and hope for the future. Diamond editions will retail for $950.00, with $150.00 from each necklace sold going to the charity.

To promote awareness L’Oréal Paris has developed a website, lorealcolorofhope.com, and will motivate employees at its New York headquarters to raise awareness of ovarian cancer. In addition, spokeswomen Kerry Washington and Eva Longoria Parker will feature in a public service display on the Plaza in Rockefeller Center.

Finally, a glamorous fundraiser, The 2008 L’Oréal Legends Gala, will take place in New York on 10 November.
