L’Oréal is said to be axing around 200 jobs at its South Wales factory as another French cosmetics and pharmaceutical, Favera, is speculated to take over the site.

As reported by the BBC, the company will maintain 60 jobs in the UK for the production of L’Oréal hair products while the rest of the jobs will be moved abroad.

With 70% of its raw materials being transferred from abroad the reason behind the move was put down to associated transport costs.

Favera is said to be keen to develop the site over the coming years and, in time, rebuild the current job levels.
