New markets overtake growing BRIC potential
Euromonitor puts the spotlight on new growth markets
One in every two dollars spent in emerging markets is spent in Brazil, Russia, India and China, but markets beyond the BRIC countries offer stronger growth potential, according to Euromonitor.
The market researcher looked at the countries with the highest income per household rather than population size. At the head are the Arab states United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia while Chile, Turkey, Venezuela, Poland and Malaysia all have relatively high disposable incomes compared with China and India. Interestingly, Malaysia and Argentina were found to be almost on a par with Brazil.
