The make-up artist and entrepreneur will lead product ideation and educational programmes for the luxury skin care brand

Beauty guru Bobbi Brown has joined luxury skin care label Augustinus Bader to inspire its creative direction.

“We are excited to share with you that our friend and longstanding Bader devotee, Bobbi Brown, has joined Augustinus Bader as our Chief Creative Advisor,” the brand revealed yesterday in an Instagram post.

According to WWD, the new role will see Brown spearheading product ideation, educational programmes, promotional activations and marquee events, among other responsibilities.

She told the publication that helming creative for her original Bobbi Brown Cosmetics brand (part of Estée Lauder Companies) and her more recent beauty business Jones Road had left her with “a vast experience both for product development [and] packaging”.

Augustinus Bader, which recently branched into hair care, is the brainchild of Professor Augustinus Bader, a biomedical scientist and current Director of Cell Techniques and Applied Stem Cell Biology at Germany’s The University of Leipzig.

Bader was inspired to create a product line following his 2008 discovery of a wound gel for severe skin traumas.

His skin care products are based on a patented TFC8 (Trigger Factor Complex) technology of natural amino acids, high grade vitamins and synthesised molecules naturally found in the body to nourish and protect the skin.

In the Instagram post announcement, Brown commented: “Since it launched, I’ve been obsessed with the Augustinus Bader products so I’m thrilled to now make it official and become one of their creative advisors.

“The Rich Cream was my first introduction to Professor Bader’s genius TFC8 technology and his groundbreaking approach to skin care and I’ve been hooked ever since.

“I am very excited to partner with this team to continue helping them innovate the future of beauty and wellness.”

Brown’s position with Augustinus Bader is far from her first foray outside of colour cosmetics; in 2018, the make-up artist launched her (now discontinued) range of nutriceuticals, Evolution_18.

Make-up label Jones Road, launched by Brown in 2020, meanwhile, encompasses five skin skus including The Oil Stick and the universal balm Hippie Stick.

Brown’s name is still strongly associated with her eponymous Bobbi Brown Cosmetics business, which she founded in 1991, selling to Estée Lauder Companies just four years later.

The entrepreneur stayed with the group developing products and fronting the business until 2017.
