Charlotte Tilbury just donated £1m to this women’s charity

On top of her donation, Charlotte Tilbury is preparing to kick off its second Hot Lips campaign to raise funds for charity organisation Women for Women International

Charlotte Tilbury has pledged to donate a £1m cash sum to charity organisation Women for Women International.

The non-profit works to equip women living in some of the most dangerous countries with skills and resources to become self sufficient, earn an income and understand their rights.

The celebrity make-up artist became a Global Ambassador for the programme in 2016.

“It’s hard to put into words what the £1m pledge means to Women for Women International,” said Brita Fernandez Schmidt, Women for Women International’s Senior VP for Global Partnerships.

“To know that Charlotte believes in our work and is ready to commit the full force of her business to bringing about change for women in some of the world’s most dangerous places is truly inspirational.”

Tilbury added: “Ever since I first met Brita and heard the stories of women in the programme, I was shocked, devastated and determined to do something to make a real difference.

“To date, we have raised enough to fund over 350 women through Women for Women International’s training programme.

“I hope that with this magical £1m donation, we will reach even more women and change even more lives across the world.”

Alongside her pledge, Tilbury is preparing to introduce her second philanthropic product launch to raise funds for the organisation.

The Hot Lips 2 lipstick collection is set to launch in June and features 11 lipsticks inspired by 11 ‘rule breaking’ celebrities.

Its first Hot Lips campaign kicked off in 2016 and donated £1 (US$2) of every lipstick sold to the cause.
