Church & Dwight buys Viviscal in €150m deal

Hair growth supplements brand grew 33% in 2016 thanks to US demand

The US’ Church & Dwight has acquired hair growth supplements and treatments brand Viviscal from Ireland-based Lifes2good in a deal worth €150m.

In 2016, the Viviscal brand enjoyed a 33% increase in sales globally on the back of its growing business in the States.

Entrepreneur James Murphy, founder of Lifes2good, said of the sale: “We are enormously proud of our achievement in building Viviscal into a hugely successful global brand that has enjoyed meteoric growth. We are however delighted that Church & Dwight, a highly regarded and fast growing US consumers business, will lead the brand in its next phase of development.”

Viviscal is currently sold in more than 30,000 locations globally, including in Boots, CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Holland & Barrett and Amazon.

Lifes2good will remain the sole distributor of Viviscal in the UK.
